I'm fundraising for Scotland's animals.

On Sunday the 2nd of October I will be running 26.2 miles to raise money for the Scottish SPCA! This will be the furthest I’ve ever run and my first marathon. I'm taking on this challenge to help raise funds for Scotland's animals as most of you know I’m a crazy hedgehog lady who tries to help our little endangered friends when I can, but the Scottish SPCA also works to save them and they need our support! 

wanted to do something positive in memory of my girl Mildred who I sadly lost last year. I’m not sure she’d be thrilled at the thought of me running that far or helping other animals (she fully believed she was the only dog in the world 😅)  but I know if she was still here she’d be the best post long run recovery buddy!

Thursday 7th Jul
Hi Everyone! 

June’s mileage started off slow as I was away for 30th Birthday celebrations! 🥳 But I managed a couple of runs on the Disney magic, 12 laps of the ship was 5km which I thought was plenty 😅 and we did it 3 times during our holiday as well as Rome parkrun in 27 degrees and a hilly run up to a viewpoint in Barcelona! So I can’t complain. 
When we got home I got straight back in to my training and have been keeping up all my training runs, but I’m already feeling a bit daunted at how long they are going to get! 

July is really busy for me with work and weddings but I’m committed to keeping up my training and the Sunday long runs have to happen… even if I don’t quite get up at 8am for them! 

In hedgehog news, I’ve had 3 regular visitors that I’m feeding and I just want to melt every time I see them, they are so cute! So I’m determined to raise as much money as I can to protect them!

Hi Everyone!

The first week of May has been and gone but after covid (and let’s be serious, taking a month off to eat Mickey waffles and avoid any form of running) I’ve been using the last couple of weeks to build up my weekly mileage again! 

I’m beginning my marathon training this month with the hope I can build up my mileage slowly and avoid injuries/have a weekend off if need be!) so I will just do a blog post a month with how I’ve been getting on unless anything exciting happens inbetween! 

I have linked my Strava so you can all keep an eye on my progress and make sure I’m hitting that weekly mileage goal!
